Why multi-select beats a single pick
You find real overlap
When people pick one date, preferences scatter and no date looks strong. When they tick everything that works, the genuine overlap appears immediately.
Fewer rounds of asking
A single-choice poll usually needs a follow-up because the winner excludes too many people. Multi-select generally settles it first time.
Nobody feels they've committed
Ticking availability feels lower-stakes than voting for a date, so people respond faster and more honestly.
Near-misses become visible
If one date has everyone except two people, you can ask those two directly instead of running the whole poll again.
Set it up in three steps
Add candidate dates
Three to six works best. Include at least one that isn't a weekend if your group is flexible.

The date with widest availability is obvious at a glance. Set a deadline so it doesn't drift.
